Sajek is at its most dramatic in and just after the monsoon, when the valley below the ridge fills with cloud each morning. That's also when the cottages fill up, so reserve a room first.
The usual route is an overnight bus to Khagrachari, then a shared jeep (the chander gari) up to Sajek. Jeeps travel in escorted convoys at set times, so plan around the schedule rather than trying to leave whenever you like.
Get up before sunrise and walk to Konglak Para, the highest point on the ridge, for the classic view.
